世紀的災難又發生了！三月十一日，日本發生強震並引發海嘯及大火，失聯人數兩萬人以上；超過五十五萬人避難中；受損建築物達七萬兩千棟以上。
證嚴上人叮嚀：「驚世的災難要有警世的覺悟！這次地震和海嘯波及二十多國，不分貧富，不分族群，也不分物種，整個地球就是一個生命共同體。天地負重，聲聲告急，地球的生命，世界的安危，人類的命運，都是緊緊相連。」
一方有難，十方馳援。災難越大，需要的愛心就越多。讓我們一起集合人間大愛，攜手締造地球與人類永續的淨化、祥和與安樂。為日本虔誠祈禱，啟發愛心，伸出援手，並以行動將善念化為善行，協助災民早日重建家園。

JAPAN DISASTER RELIEF
Dear Friends:
A catastrophe happened on March 11 in Japan. An 8.9-magnitude Richter scale earthquake spawned gigantic tsunami waves and engulfing fires. Over 20,000 people are still missing. More than 550,000 people have been placed in shelters. Over 72,000 buildings were destroyed.
Master Cheng Yen reminds us that the whole Earth is a symbiotic entity. This earthquake and tsunami impacted more than 20 countries, regardless of rich or poor, across all people and all life forms. Everything in the world is interconnected—the Earth’s existence, the wellbeing of all things on it, and the destiny of the entire human beings.
A disaster inspires compassion from all directions. More love is needed when a disaster is so widespread. Let’s pray for Japan, kindle compassion in everyone, and take action together to help rebuild homes for the disaster survivors.
