In the aftermath of hurricane Irma, Tzu Chi volunteers in Canada worked with the Canadian NGO, Global Medic, to deliver cleaning supplies and water purifiers to impacted areas, including Sint Maarten. After a Sint Maarten Tzu Chi volunteer, received aid supplies, she expressed gratitude and asked for more water purifiers.Upon learning about the news, Tzu Chi volunteers in Canada prepared 500 water purifiers to be sent to Sint Maarten with the assistance of Global Medic.
艾瑪風， 重創加勒比海島國後，加拿大慈濟人，與非政府組織，全球醫援會，送出清潔用品，和淨水器到災區，這其中也包括荷屬聖馬丁，荷屬聖馬丁慈濟志工，在收到物資後，立即發簡訊 表示感謝，同時也希望，能再有淨水器送達災區，加拿大慈濟志工， 一接到消息，準備了五百份的淨水器，要再透過全球醫援會，送到荷屬聖馬丁。
